SciFi and Fantasy Art: The Magician's Serenade

I like this one. I drew and painted the background for this picture when I was 15 or 16 (I remember this because of my traumatic girls' school experiences ;) and was fascinated by optical illusions. Anyway, I stopped painting it when I came to the figures because I wasn't confident with human figures yet. So I was delighted when I came home and found the painting again, the blank figures just waiting to be filled with color. (I don't like the pinks and yellows in the background, but they were from 6 years ago and so I left them anyway.) There are a few physical impossibilities/optical illusions to be found in this picture. Have fun looking. :)

reminds me a bit of M.C. Escher - he did a lot of stuff like this, but due to the fact that is was his main focus he did more complicated ones.
Like it very much - at first sight it looks very innocent and then the little impossibilities pop up. Clever, clever....

Optical illusions are wonderful. You should check out Dali and Escher. They will give you inspiration. Anyways, great work! I enjoyed looking at this piece. Watercolors are so versatile.

Oh there's more illusions here, keep looking folks! And to the 'anonymous' you with the two words...they apply to yourself, not the artist!
Keep up the great work!
