SciFi and Fantasy Art: Empath

This is yet another character sketch for one of the guys I game with. She is a Champions character, and she is ..well..an empath. I really don't care if you can't see a fantasy motif here. She's not real, therefore, it's fantasy.

Great shading on the hair and face, and excellent detail on her clothing. This is the kind of work most of us are aspiring to. Very, very impressive.

I agree with that last comment -- I am aspiring to this type of work. The pose is what attracted my attention - it's very realistic. She's actually *standing* there... not balancing or too stiff, or... Very Good Work!

Hmm... Nice. Very nice. I really admire how you keep each drawing unique- a lot of people (especially me) get kind of sucked into the same nose, or same eyes, or same lips, etc. Not so with you. And the clothes are different for everyone, and everything. Props!

Very remeniscent of eighties comicbook style. Fits well with the Champions superhero motif, I'll bet 2 Nicely done.

Nice job. Those folds make it look like you can see through her pants, hehe.

Thank God...fantasy clothes that aren't ripped out of a D&D manual...originality prevails!

Actually, characters that aren't real are fiction, not fantasy. Tom Sawyer wasn't real, but he sure wasn't fantasy, either. The fact that she's an empath, now, that would make her fantasy. I just want to mention that so Elfwooders won't think they can upload pictures of normal people with the argument "They don't exist in real life!" - 'cuz that just won't fly with the mods. Aside from that minor quibble with the description, I really like this pic and I am mightily jealous.

:-) Matt Jarrett replies: "Quibble, quibble. If I wanted to be a total jerk, I could bust out a dictionary for the word "fantasy" to prove you wrong, because only recently (and only in certain circles, like the Elfwood community)has the word "fantasy" been strictly referred to as anything mythological or Tolkien-esk. As for me I am referring to the dictionary version and in that version fantasy and fiction are synonyms. I still don't understand why they split up the galleries between sci-fi and fantasy. It causes unneccessary nit-picking with definitions, and also gets a few pics banned, like in my case. Empath was a superhero, not an adventurer in some D&D type setting, but it wasn't banned like the rest of my superhero stuff I had previously posted."

She is a lovely lass with nice curves. Well done and an interesting entity.
