SciFi and Fantasy Art: Winged man

There is quite alengthy story behind this picture. I'll try to keep it short. I had heard once that if man was to truly fly under his own power, like the birds, he would need a breast bone about six feet long to accomidate the muscles needed to flap the wings. If you look carefully you can see I've given this guy an artificial breast bone, I call a breast keel. It's that thing sticking out from his chest. Inside it is a fly wheel and gears which make the flapping of the wings easier on him. There is a whle world based on this guy, in my head.

Awesome concept (and drawing; it's my favourite). You're right up there with Leonardo DaVinci!

*Grin* Technical info. So cool. I like then people actually think about what they're doing. Mostly people just draw something that looks cool. (I should know. I'm one of them.)
