SciFi and Fantasy Art: Artemis

From the same category as Zeus and Athena. Artemis is the goddess of the moon and hunt...cept I think I made her too fat and her face is messed up...I can't figure out *why*. Siiiiigh ^_^.

Fat?!? How about not?!? She looks a little too skinny to me. But I think you did a wonderful job other than that and there is nothing wrong with anime-Sailor Moon form. <Also: the early Greek culture identified Artemis with the moon and the hunt. Selene was not a Goddess until the later periods so phooey to all those "historians".> Good picture2

That's so pretty! Also, Artemis isn't the moon herself (that's Selene), but more of the embodiment of moonlight, and the beauty of things under it. Also, she represented the cresent (and waxing) moon in the Artemis-Selene-Hecate goddess triangle. I _love_ the way that you did her hair and face, despite what others may have said, I think that it's perfect (it's cartoon propotioning, after all) and really great looking.^^' ...yeah. I'll shut up now. XD

I don't think she's too fat either...I think her breats might be a little too high up on her chest, though. And Artemis, Selene, and Hecate each represent different phases of the moon, and of womanhood. So...yeah. In Greek and Roman mythology, you get three moon goddesses for the price of one.

Great pic! And for all those who are debating about if Artemis *is* indeed the Moon goddess I'll infrom you that she is, although so are Selene and Hekate. Hekate is goddess of the waning moon, Artemis is goddess of the cresent moon, and Selene is goddess of the full moon, but the one more closely related with the title *The* goddess of the moon is Artemis. You check resources like the Iliad or the Odyssey if you don't believe me.

Yeah, she does look kinda nervous. She doesn't look fat to me. Her face is fine, also. Great work.
