SciFi and Fantasy Art: Seraphine

Ummmmm okay okay, I know this looks bad -_-' Anyhow, I sketched this pic of Seraphine (an albino angel from a manga I'm hoping to start sometime) during French class on my french worksheet (I wasn't paying attention kyaaaa!) Well I took it home and scanned it (without inking which is why it look unclean) and randomly airbrushed some colour onto it. So here it is!!

This really is beautiful...I love characters with white hair. And actually, "seraphim" is the plural form of "seraph." (Just being technical, sorry) Anyway, keep up the great work! She looks really sad...very expressive, great job ^^

She's sweet and innocent without being obnoxious (read: Amelia from Slayers. >_<;;;12, which is incredibly hard for some people ::koff::me::koff:: to pull off. I'm a HUGE fan of white hair. 'Tis just the coolest color out there--after bloo, of course. ^_^ Myeeheeheeheeheehee... Anyways, I think the very nature of the picture--yes, including its medium--helps to convey a sense of character. Pictures are, after all, worth a thousand words... Fifty points, and an extra five because white hair rocks. Beautiful highlighting, too.

I ran across this picture attempting to find an image of a commonplace musical instrument, actually, called a 'seraphine'. I noticed the debate over the word's meaning, and all I know a seraphine to be is a wind instrument, which sounds with a free reed, has a case like to a piano's, is played with a similar keyboard, and has bellows worked by foot. Anyway, just trying to help out! I like the expressiveness of the picture. I have a hard time communicating feeling in my sketches.
