SciFi and Fantasy Art: Axe Knight

A closeup of a larger picture I did, mostly because i don't have the time nor the money to scan in A2 format. i like the figure, especially considering it was done over an earlier unsuccessful sketch for a painting. This is acrylic on acrylic paper with a canvas like surface.

Only one thing I feel is missing : stronger drop shadows (shadow cast by the shield on the knight, by his arms, etc.) Including the shadow cast by the knight on the ground. This one is especially important if you want your knight to feel connected to the ground (right now, he seems to be floating above the ground). Simply having an dark edge where an object connects with the ground will give it a very stronger sense of presence. Keep up the good work!

26 Jul 2001	Spetulhu	Loading... Is this a future knight? It looks like he has a backpack with retracted metal wings, probably with a small jet engine for propulsion
