SciFi and Fantasy Art: Lucifer

Long story short, I'm studying Paradise Lost by John Milton in English Lit and a new idea for a story came leaping out of the page and smack into my face, demanding attention. Before you look, Please don't get mad! I'm not trying to make any commentaries on religion. What I'm going to do is take the character of Lucifer and put my own spin on what's happening.

*deep breath* So, here it is, my take on Lucifer. So you know, these short stories will take place within the 'Faded Reverie' universe. I'll add images and snippets for the others who will appear in the stories if all goes well.

There are two major topics in the debate about my fall. One is that I became so vain that wanted to take Heaven for myself and vowed revenge when I failed. The other is that I was created to fall from grace and corrupt Man so that God could rescue him. Hm, the one thing everyone seems to agree on is that I'm a selfish, ungrateful, stupid wretch who's too proud to admit he's wrong.

But that's not how the story really goes.

I waged war in Heaven knowing full well that I was condemning myself to a life of misery. But why would I corrupt one third of the Angelic Host to rebel? Am I full of hot air and was really doing it out of spite? No. I did it because I knew that without my hell-fire to temper the strength of mankind, they could never stand against what was coming.

Your description, the bit from his point of view... it's so completely in synch with what Lucifer is in my mind, it's amazing. We're definitely on the same wavelength.... When you've written the story about him, I'd be really interested to read it!

16 Mar 2002	Dark	Loading... Oh, I love it! I play Lucifer in an Angel Sanctuary-type RPG, after he fell, and he acts more like what you have here. He's actually a pretty decent guy. He tries very, very hard to be evil and nasty and heartless like he's supposed to...but he fails. Miserably. So basically, he's still got the heart of an angel, but all the Holy angels still hate him save for one - Uriel, the guardian of the gates of Hell that sorts the souls - and they seem to be very good friends. Please, draw more! Have you written anything on him? If so I'd LOVE to see it!! -Dark-sama
