I have been painting for about 15 years, with an emphasis on figurative work. I graduated from the College of Creative Studies at UCSB with a Bachelor’s in Fine Art.
My art is primarily concerned with strong sensual women of colossal solidity and Herculean musculature, leavened with an undercurrent of humor and whimsy. My imagery is inspired by a number of sources, from the physical exaggerations of ancient goddess images, to the burlesque allegories of classical figurative painting, to the comic-book physiques of female bodybuilders.
Also included here are a number of sketches colored with Photoshop. There are some roleplaying illustrations, as well as some more amazons and fantasy pieces.
I have shown artwork in a few galleries, and have artworks sprinkled around on various websites as well. Currently I am partially employed drawing backgrounds for comicbooks.

You have some nice art works here. None of which contain an anorexic woman! Very eye catching with all those bright colours too.

:-) Jedediah Dougherty replies: "Glad you like the color, and yes, the anorexic portion of my portfolio is woefully thin. (sorry!)"

I love that you've used women with some meat on their bones in your work. A person can get really tired of all the stick figures after a while (Like I'm one to talk... I guess thin subjects are just easier to draw), it's nice to see some beautiful full-figured women every once in a while, brings you back to reality and reminds you that you don't have to have bones sticking out to look pretty. Awesome work, I adore it all!

Wow, seldom seen such craftmanship. Feels good to see voluptous and heavier woman for a change, too. Keep 'm comming!

I just ’Love’ the style and content of JD’s artwork. It appeals to my Pagan nature.

seriously, do you have a fetish for fat and heavily muscled women?

47 Jedediah Dougherty replies: "Seriously, I’d have to say yes."

Jedediah! I would love to use part of your painting "a_mountain_walked_or_stumbled.jpg" for the image of one of my songs on myspace. Please contact me via email. Keep up the great work!
