SciFi and Fantasy Art: STAAR #1 - Full Color

The XCS-029 is a prototype command-class STAAR designed as a test vehicle for next generation advanced designs. The Medusa boasts a very sturdy yet highly maneuverable combat frame and variable weapons loadout. The type IV tactical hardpoints allow it to carry a wide range of ordnance including additional hand-held weapons, disposable propellant tanks (as shown here) and even anti-ship torpedos. It is also one of the first STAAR designs to be issued a Kinetic Reflex Gun (KRG) as standard armament.

Well, I haven't drawn a see-thru mechanical drawing in a looooong time, so you'll have to use your imagination. I'm still fond of how this turned out...gotta set aside my cat-girl art and do some more mechs! Thanks for the comment!

23 Nov 2002	D. Terrill	Loading... This is my favorite. This design has it all. Very smooth, modern design with a strong eastern influence (Anime perhaps?). That color scheme is also great! This one gets saved in my "robot images" folder for inspiration. Super! Yes, very heavily influenced by anime, specifically Gundam mechanical designs. Originally I had a sort of metallic lime-green color, but scrapped that as some of the shading started to look goofy. I'll have to get back to doing more mechs soon...thanks for the comment!

13 Nov 2006	Anonymous Gal	Loading... ... I agree with the previous commentor. Stick to the cats, or maybe you could even dare to draw a human! gasp And personally, I have had enough of that Gud forsaken aqua colour. It looks like the inside of a hospital.
