Hello everyone! I figure with a new look for Elfwood, I might as well update my bio, especially since all my fantasy and sci-fi art is right here.
About myself...I'm 32, a graphic designer and I currently reside in Alexandria, VA, sharing my apartment with my two black cats Onyx and Cleopatra...okay, so they share their apartment with me. ;)
Now, enough about me, time to put the spotlight on the real stars of this gallery - my cat-girls! In here you'll find fantasy warrior cat-girls (go Zira - meow!), demon and angel cats, sci-fi cat-girls in kick@ss power armor and more sexy, sultry pin-up kittens than you can count on four paws! =) Realism is not my goal with most of my art - while most of my figures are more or less in proportion, I've also been concentrating on creating super-curvy, exaggerated figures that are joy to not only draw but also to look at. If you're picky about the bust size of female characters or looking for anatomical perfection, you won't find that kind of art in here...but if you like sexy anime-style cat-girls (and other female types), you've come to the right place.
Simply put, I create art that'll make you say 'MEOW!' =^-^=
The other best way to describe my art is positive - bright colors, smiling cat-girls, clear blue skies...and my best way to sum that up is the description for my picture 'Kitty Hug!'
I almost always do positive artwork - bright colors, happy, cheerful cat-girls (even if some are half naked!) - and I'd have to say this is the best example of this. The phrase 'Hug your kitty' has become one of my signature phrases. Your 'kitty' can be anything or anyone - it could be your boyfriend/girlfriend, husband/wife...it could be your kitty(meow!) or your computer! If you love your kitty, hug your kitty - enjoy life, smile, be happy, I love your artwork - basically my equivalent of 'don't worry, be happy,' but I like my version better.
As might be pretty obvious, anime is a very big influence for me (especially in developing my own cel-shaded style). Without a doubt, the most influential artist to me is Masamune Shirow. His work is absolutely exquisite - while his character design really hasn't changed that much over the years, it's still very attractive and undoutedly one of the most distinctive styles in all of anime/manga art. I highly recommend his 'Intron Depot' series of illustration books - lots of lucious graphics and great commentary from Shirow himself. Other artistic influences include (in no particular order) Luis Royo, Johji Manabe, Hajime Sorayama, Shoji Kawamore, Hajime Katoki, Hiroki Yagami and Yui Toshiki. Is that enough for ya? :)
I did have some links posted here and they will return as I get a bit more time to expand them.
UPDATE SECTION: 7/10/05 Well, it's about time I got around to updating this page again. I finally resubmitted the pics that were lost from the crash in April, so if you've missed looking at my sexy 'Enchantment' picture she's here again. I've also got a few new works as well, so please take a look, especially my 'Titanium Angel.'
Big thanks to all who visit and comment - I appreciate the feedback, plus anything to fluff the egos of my cat-girls only helps to keep them happy! So, enjoy the art below, leave a comment if you wish, and most of all, 'HUG YOUR KITTY!'
