SciFi and Fantasy Art: In Memory Of Fallen Heroes - Past, Present and Future

p>This picture is dedicated to all who have fallen - past, present and future - in service to this country (U.S.).

Initially I planned on only drawing the past cat-girl, but since there is so much that has happened since WWII I figured it was better to include everyone, and I must admit I'm pleased with the results. My intention was to create a trio of very noble, proud cat-girls, ready to fight for their beliefs and I purposefully did my best to render them as un-glamourous as I could. This picture is also a tribute of sorts to my cat-girls as well - though I draw a wide variety of them in varying degrees and forms of attire, they are all creatures of substance and possess the spirit and soul of these three below.

You can find invidual pictures of these cat-girls at this link.

Great coloring job.
I liked how the Tommy gun looks, made popular by good ol' Al Capone, and the very first sub-machine gun (according to the History Channel).
I also liked the armor on the future catgirl soldier. Thanks Andy - took a lot of work to get this one done. The Thompson wasn't the first sub-machine gun - I think the Germans made the first one (the 'trench broom' as it was called) towards the end of WWI. Al Capone actually never used a Tommy gun much - I think only once or twice (according to the History channel). I actually think I drew the Thompson a bit too big, though I was trying to make it as accurately as I could.

wow! nice one Jeff! this must have spent you ages! - I love the idea behind it, very noble. :] - an' they're all cool cats! - well done. :] Thanks Kat! It did take me a while to create, especially since I did each cat-girl separately, though the hard work did pay off - I"m glad it came out as well as it did.

Iam sort of a gun buff so iam gessing that the second cat girl is form the veitnam war. Well, not really the Vietnam war, but rather just from a contemporary modern era. Thanks for the comment!

I love the concept. Looks like the past cat is from the army, the present looks like she is more of a special missions kind of oprative, the third looks like a space ranger. I like the contrast between the three I also love the symbolism you have here. I also think this would work as a good tribute to 9/11 as well. Actually, I tried my best to make the cat-girls look as ordinary as I could...as a salute to both the common soldier as well as those assigned to special duties. I'm still very proud of this picture and my idea behind it...and it's also sort of a tribute to my cat-girls as well. I'm still not really sure if I'd want to apply this towards 9/11...while I did create this after that event, I made it as a tribute to those who fought and died serving this country. Don't get me wrong - I'm not trying to downgrade the loss of life from 9/11 at all, but that's a bit different from honoring those who have fallen in wars as soldiers. Thanks much for your comment!

Cool pic, in dedication to those who have given their lives for this country. Very patriotic!

P.S. The one in the middle looks like Snake from the Metal Gear Solid games.
