SciFi and Fantasy Art: Tracking the Hobbits

A scene from The Two Towers by JRR Tolkien. Legolas, Aragorn and Gimli are tracking the wayward hobbits, abducted by orcs. This was a lot better when it was the proper size (originally A3) but it was too big to fit in here so I've had to shrink it and it's turned out kinda squiffy. Don't ask me why Gimli's wearing platform boots, ;-). Oh, BTW, I can't draw trees/landscapes to save my life!

What a wondeful scenery you've made here Jenny. Such a marvellous composition. I can't wait to see this coloured. But it's really beautiful as a graphite work as well. Welcome to Elfwood.

PS: Hey Jenny you can also answer your comments in the comment itself. If you don't know how I will gladly help you, just send me an e-mail. 2

Hey, that's taken right from my mind and put into paper! Incredible! I think you should colour it too, in time.

This is really great. The landscape, sure, is not quite on a par with the figures, but hey, it's not that bad! At least you made an attempy, unlike the vast majority of many. I like your depictions of the characters, particularly Gimli. Very much how I pictured him. Love it. Perhaps now some colour...? Hmm, just a thought.

for an eighth gradede art project i had to draw a cliff and rocks and stuff. it looked like a bunch of triangles, squares, and circles, and LOTS of dark blotches. it was really *really* awful
your pic is good, and i *like* your background

Don't worry, I can't draw landscapes or trees if it ment saving my life either. But I'll tell you, the background in the distance is pretty good.
