| 13 Oct 2001 | Paula Jo Endicott | You asked for serious comments, so I'm going to switch into art teacher mode! When drawing the adult face, begin with an oval. If you sketch a horizontal line through the very center, that's where the eyes go. You have a good concept of eye size, so I won't go into that, but they are a little to far up on the head. Your eyebrows seem a little formless... there's a bone located under them that gives them their placement - check it out on your own face and you'll get the idea. You've got a good eye for color and detail, but first you have to pick up the basics of form and shape. It never hurts to get a book on it. Keep drawing! You can do all the technical things you want, but you can't teach feeling. | |
