| 9 Sep 2002 | David Tveit | This reminds me of nightmares I have every now and then. I'm flying low over monsters, barely beyond their grasp, and can't seem to gain altitude. Great imagery. | |
| 27 Oct 2002 | Kay | this has to be my favourite. I simply love the drawing but I also love the explantion on the blindfold and the blind Unicorn. It makes it sooo much more fantastic a picture. *nods* beautiful | |
| 31 Jan 2003 | Lynn Dombrowski | Very nice, I am trying to think of the words to describe it but i can't. Just know that i think very well of you & your artistic ability. | |
| 14 Feb 2003 | Kyrissean | My God when I start to write novels I'm employing you as the illustrator. Superb picture. Is that Hell they're escaping from? Awesome picture! Man I'd love to know you... I envy your abilities...keep up the extravagant work... Jennifer Alice Peters replies: "well I definitely could use the work, being both at starving student and artist. Thanks so much for your comment though, it means a lot to know that some people think my art is worth paying money for. Yeah it's suppose to be hell, I drew it on one of my moodier days, I guess we all have those " | |
| 16 Feb 2003 | sarah | You do a hell a lot better than me....My drawings are crap | |
| 20 Apr 2003 | Izam | I really love it, and the poem you wrote is fabulous, but one thing is bothering me though, look at the unicorn's back leg, it looks like a bone is broken or something, but then again it could be just me, it is a so wonderful and meaningful pic! ^___^ | |
| 14 Aug 2003 | Kristen Elias | It looks as if the unicorn is rescuing her from some agonizing hell. Putting himself in danger to save her innocent soul. Perhaps the blindfold is to keep her from seeing the horrible visions around her, else she would go mad. That's just my thought. I would never tell you what your picture's meaning is. Thank you for sharing such a wonderful image. Jennifer Alice Peters replies: "I love when people tell me what they see in my art. Art is never *just* how the artists sees it, art is always open to interpretation. It's true meaning is different for everyone. Thanks for taking the time to leave your thoughts." | |
| 27 Jan 2004 | Liari | From searing heat of hell unbridled Race unfettered falling free From horrors best remain untitled All of purity must flee Escape this prison in true blindness Silence as a sheild surrounding To blossom with unending kindness Once released by love abounding Jennifer Alice Peters replies: "How remiss of me not to respond to such a beautiful comment. I've been sadly negligent of my gallery, but coming back here now, your words have struck me." | |
| 23 Jul 2005 | Esther S. Brendel (Maiden name: Esther S. Wetzel) | Wow! I like this picture! Especially the symbolism in it is great. Escaping blindly and blindly confiding in the companion. The unicorn looks good, though, me too, I think the posture of the hind legs doesn't quite fit to that of the the fore legs. (And that's me who cannot draw horses' legs herself!) Jennifer Alice Peters replies: "I had to go take a look at this picture again to see if I understood what you ment. I'm no horse expert myself, most of my understanding is more of feline anatomy and the hours spent watching my cat run about. The only horses I ever get to see are the ones that pull the tourest carts in downtown seattle. And though the city does bring many sights I have yet to see one of those giant clidesdales running through the city streets. Thanks for the comment." | |
| 4 Aug 2006 | Anonomous | Did u get the idea from madeline l'engle's books? Because on the cover of one it looks like that... Jennifer Alice Peters replies: "You know I've read quite a few of madeline l'engle's books and I don't recall ever seeing a book cover anything like the drawing. At any rate the drawing is simply an illustration for the poem, which was also composed by me. Anyway as doestoevsky said "there are no new thoughts in the world" likely someone else has had a similar idea to my own at some point." | |
