| 5 Aug 2005 | Lynvallen | I can see a face too, in fact two of them, one in the light gray, one in the dark, of the head. Is this intentional? Experimentation? ??? Jennifer Alice Peters replies: "Complete accident I'm afraid, I can't claim credit for the effect. Just the result of a failed eraser, and a change of heart midway through the drawing." | |
| 5 Aug 2005 | Hannah Schmidt 'Nomi' | Is it just me, or can I just barely make out a face? Any way, I get a feeling from it of, well, I dont know. Like I was reaching out to save someone from falling, but then I dropped them, or they slipped, or I missed them completly. In other words, creepy. But in a good way. The shading and coloring is amazing. What medium did you use? Jennifer Alice Peters replies: "This one is done entirely in tria marker. One of the few drawings that I've felt came out successful despite the lack of any colored pencil detail/texturing. Originally when doing this drawing I was going to give the angel a face, but about half way through I decided against it. My pencil however would not oblige me and refused to erase entirely, and so we have the result you see before you. Your description pretty much describes how I was feeling at the time, trying yet failing. Thanks for the comment." | |
| 5 Aug 2005 | Crystal R. | I love this picture. It's amazing and so wonderfuly shaded and colored. It's kinda eere though...this is exactly what happends at the beginning of my book I'm rewriting. It's kinda like you read my mind though I know you didn't..lol. Anyway, my keyboard is all messed up so the e-mail I entered has to be retyped if you wish to reply to my comment. I can't use the "at" sign. ^_^. Laterz. ~Crystal Jennifer Alice Peters replies: "That is sort of eerie that it happens to match a scene you're writing. It's not the first time it's happened before, maybe I was channeling you when I drew it, who's to say? Thank you for the lovely comment." | |
| 11 Aug 2005 | Zuya Zarei | Excellent use of bold shading. You don't pull any punches, do you? One criticism, if I may. The angel's hand looks inflated instead of appearing nearer. I think it is because the forearm does not expand sufficiently to give the illusion of perspective. Other than that, great job. And I really like the wings... Jennifer Alice Peters replies: "I see what you mean, it was a difficult pose to attempt, and hard to show the forearm widening since it's mostly hidden behind the hand, but I see where it could be widened a little. Thanks for the CC I appreciate it." | |
| 13 Dec 2005 | Jennifer Easley | I LOVE the perspective and the dramatic shadows on this piece, it's so well drawn. I agree with the above commenter that the forearm looks a tad too thin but you did way better than i could hehe. The background really sets it off too, very lovely! Jennifer Alice Peters replies: "it was a difficult perspective considering I used no reference I think it came out pretty well, it was certainly a learning experience, hopefully I'll be a little better next time. Thanks for the comment, I'm glad you like it " | |

| 4 Apr 2006 | Wolf Sister | noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo*gasp*oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo*pants* Well now that thats out of the way, i draw these things too, cept mine are all giurls I call them faceless angels...i though i was witty coming up with something like that but now everyone has one *sighs* nice pic btw | |
| 7 Nov 2006 | Messenger | I'd like to think of this as not a fallen angel, but a holy putting out his hand to lead those to God. | |
| 11 Jan 2007 | Grant | A personal feeling I receive from this is release. Disconnecting from that force of which he was connected, in the bad way. Peace, love, hope, he let it all go for a fall into darkness. For whatever reason he willingly falls. Jennifer Alice Peters replies: "Really interesting take, I really like when I get to see what people feel from a drawing." | |
