SciFi and Fantasy Art: Dark Flight

as soon as I started to draw this pic I realized I'd never actually done a dragon type creature in flight and it was much harder then I thought it would be but the result was worth it I think. This is a half horse half dragon is there a name for these creatures? (prisma colored pencils on 11x14 bristol board actually is much larger! sorry for the merge line pieced together and all)

27 Dec 2005	Anon.	Loading... Ok, everyone...usually a Dragon Horse is a Kirin, an Asian Unicorn. Now this artist can form her OWN ideas on what it is called. If she wants it to be called a ryhnorc, thats what it is! You people can form your opinions and NOT critcise anyone else's opinions! Anyways, tis a beautiful pic, deserves mods! Jennifer Alice Peters replies: "Kirin are typically wingless, but I suppose with some stretch of the imagination this could be considered one, but to quote a poet "what's in a name..."? 29 Dec 2005	Horsegirl	Loading... the artist is right, it's funny to hear people knowing how fantasy creatures are supposed to look. in my opinion this pic is beautiful! if a horse-dragon was a real thing I'm sure it would look like that on the picture. you (the artist) must be exstremely talented! good job, or as we say in Norway "godt jobba, stå på" (it means great job, keep up the good work)
