Welcome to my little flower patch in the woods! I am known online as both Softpaw, and as the Fae kitty. :) what is a Fae Kitty you ask? well I am both a fairy and a feline so..fae kitty! *smiles*

I've been drawing and painting about all my life but only got really into it in the late 90's most of what you see here is done then. I am NOT..as you might think from a good part of my artwork a Furry..I hate that term..it has gotten to many bad connotations and is just plain silly. The term I like better is anthropomorphic thank you.

I really enjoy musicals, CATS being my favorite (boo hiss at the people that canceled it on Broadway and replaced it with a play about ABBA!)and Andrew Lloyd Webber is my favorite composer. I also like performing on stage myself or doing behind the scenes work with costumes and make up.

Most (ok I think by now ALL) of my artwork is of or about the roleplaying I do on Nightstar.net in a place called #Gilded_Rose_inn It's a lot of fun and all are welcomed to come to it. My main nick on there is of course Softpaw but I have many others. However if I am on then Softpaw will be up, I use two irc's.

Oh, I'm 30 years old (born on Elvis's birthday), lived well lets just say I have library cards from three continents as my dad is a Retired Army Lt. Col. and leave it at that as the list is very long. Aside from musicals, roleplaying and the stage, I also enjoy reading, I muck about with webpage design and web graphics. Anything dealings with Cats unicorns or Fairies catches my eye.

I am married to a wonderful man, Like I am a Fae Kitty he is a Dragon. MY dragon. We've been married about two years now and I love him dearly. I live with him and Four cats in a little town in the middle of nowhere.

I notice you seem to draw the features of the face as if they are separate things on a flat surface, without really thinking about the underlying muscles and bones. I remember hearing about this in one of my classes, it comes from drawing what one thinks an eye should look like, rather than what it actually is. Grab a book of anatomy for artists, I'm a big fan of anything by Joseph Sheppard. Another trick I was taught was to copy a picture of a person, but to turn that picture upside down. That tricks your mind into seeing only shapes and shades, and not eyes, nose, mouth. Just some constructive criticism, keep on creating! I love your colors and textures a lot. You're very imaginative.
