My suggestion for you would be to study and practice drawing from the things around you. Use references too; you can never learn enough from looking at a photograph of an iguana or the wing structure of a bat to get everything perfect. When you practice and draw from reality it allows for a better manipulation of it when you want to draw fantasy. Good luck!
