SciFi and Fantasy Art: 01-01 Angel Sketch

This is preliminary sketch for a picture I'm doing for my last college class. There are some minor things wrong with the pose that I'm going to fix. Over all I was pretty happy with it. This is only the second time I've drawn wings that I can remember.

This angel is a NPC I'm developing for the campaign I'm running for Arcane Realms . Angels in the game are only partially solid. They are made primarily of magical energy. Each Angel is aligned to one or more light moral value and spends it's time searching out and eliminating entities that have been completely corrupted by the opposite value and protecting and rewarding those that embody their aligned value. Guess what the demons do?

Being inately magical creatures Angels are extremely powerful beings. They cannot be harmed by non magical means and are very resistant to most magics. When Angels are defeated they enter a non corporeal state where they stay until they regain the strength to return to the physical world.

This particular Angel is aligned to Charity. She has no possessions, even clothing, as clothing is often a status symbol and she doesn't need it to stay warm or protect her from the elements. She is currently tracking a Troll Battle Master who has been stockpiling every form of treasure he and his army can get it's hands on...

19 Aug 2002	Dakkon	Loading... This is a very very good picture, by far the best I have seen today, aswell as one of the best I have ever seen on elfwood. My only critisism is that, and this is only my opinion, she is a biut too thin. Keep up the work I did this picture when I was trying to figure out how to draw women that didn't look so much like men... In my younger days I used to draw a lot of women who were rather burly... She's way to thin, but I learned a lot about the differences between men and women while doing this and several others... I still do skinny women from time to time, but generally I prefer statuesque to string bean.

Secondly, don't listen to people who bitch and whine about how skinny she is. I am that skinny and I am not anorexic, I can't help it, I eat all the time. Oh yea, and finally, to all those people who seem to have issues with seeing full frontal nudity, what do you do when you have a shower? Cover the mirror with a towel or something?
