SciFi and Fantasy Art: 02-05RaceSizeComparison

This is a size comparison sketch for the male races of Arcane Realms. From left to right we have a Dwarf, Elf, Ork, Troll, Goblin and Human. I know I've altered the appearance of the traditional fantasy races but there is a reason for it. I have over 3000 years and 3 major era's of history laid out for Arcane Realms. In the first 2 eras the races are traditional. The 3rd era is the first setting I'm creating for the rpg. The sketch was done with a digital tablet in photoshop. I used the pencil tool with the opacity option checked. It works very much like a pencil and paper this way. :)

Of course, the goblin guy is my favie, I bet he is the most dangerous one too ^_^ Jeremy Campbell replies: " hehe You could be right, sword vs sword my money's on the troll, but give the little guy a dagger and a patch of shadow, it's a different story."
21 Jun 2002	Claire E. Condon	Loading... I like the elf best, but they are all really good! The musculature on the troll is especially impressive. I always thought that orcs were larger, but it's probably just a misconception of Claire's :oints to self while twirling a finger around her ear:: Jeremy Campbell replies: " Traditionally you are correct Orc's are larger than elves, humans are too. I've messed with tradition a bit tho "

15 Jun 2003	Anonymous	Loading... i have a different idea of what a troll and goblin look like than yours. Trolls are meant to be ugly brutish creatures with puss and snot dripping from their noses and mouthes. Also goblins are a bit taller and bigger built. But that is my idea.
