SciFi and Fantasy Art: Welcome to Jao é-Tinukai'i

Again it's a piece insprired by Tad Williams 'Memory, Sorrow and Thorn'. It shows Jirki, the prince of the Sithi, at the summer gate - one of the secret passage to the elven city Jao é-Tinukai'i. All of you who think 'hey, that sounds familiar' are right. I've done this picture before - it is even still up at my elfwood gallery. At the moment I go through a kind of a odd phase - I'm redoing old scatches and picture with new technics. It isn't like I haven't ideas for new pics - there are lots and lots of them - but I tried so much different dings during the last year that I needed a direct comparison between the styles. So, this 'second edition' was done by Poser and Photoshop. I realised that Hairs and Clothes done by Poser don't look that realistic so I decided to do the characters body and the background only by Poser while the rest - clothes, jewellery and hair - is done with Photoshop. I'm curious - what do you think? Which style do you like better?

I love this!! Not at all how I pictured him, but beautiful. Interesting thing about the eyebrows, it's hard to imagine someone having lavender hair and white eyebrows, but also hard to imagine someone dying their eyebrows. Remember how upset Simon was to find out all Sithi have white hair? ("Dyes, artifice!") I'm happy you like my little Jiriki. I heard of almost everyone who came around that this wasn't the way they pictured him - now I'm curious...all of you tell me how you picture him...I love to discuss this topic after all *is looking pleadingly at the lazy MS&T fandom*well, for dying their eyebrows I have a theory: I'm positiv they DO dying them for Simon took a eternity to realise they all have white hair. If all Sithi had white eyebrows he should noticed before. Why Likimeya decided to not dying her eyesbrows when changing her hair color from copper red to fire red before going to war is a question that arise from this theory. I guess it's a matter of grieving for her husband - Jiriki and Aditu washed away their hair colors after Shima'onari's death. If the reason had been the war why all of the other Sithi still wore their bright colors at their hairs? (questions over questions)

I live in Italy, in venice actually, and here its difficult finding books.I just wanted to ask if its a new book or not because if it is I will have to whait for ages.the drawing is awsome. well, 'Memory, Sorrow and Thorn' isn't excatly a new serie - the last part was published 10 years ago but they are still present at the book shops even after such a long time at least in my home town. I'm almost sure there is an italian translation of MS&T for I saw the italian cover art at some fan page at the net. Well, if you comfortable enough with english you could get the original version from Amazon.de more easy - they are delivering to Italy and the shipping cost would be something around 8 € ( you have to add 80 Cent for each additonal book ).

Um......do you do art trades or art for other people???PLEASE TELL ME! The reason Im asking is Im working on this story and I need someone who can draw elves (like you 2) to possibly do an art trade with me. You can check out the first part of my story and some of my art on my homepage. yes, I do art trades and request. I will happy to draw a character for you. Please send me an e-mail, so I won't loose track - I got a few requests for pictures the last days *smiles*. I visited your homepage, but I couldn't find your art so perhaps you could send me a direct link or a example with the mail...Thank you.

Wow. He looks great in blue. *drool* From all I could figure out from the books 'blue' seems to be one of his favourite colours - his armor and his ceremonial robes are containing this colour too - together with yellow and grey..

Excellent portrayal

wow. very nice. Jiriki happens to be my favorite character in that entire series...he's the best. Tad Williams is also a pretty good author, very detailed. I like your portrayal of him...*sniff*...does him proud.
