SciFi and Fantasy Art: Medusa

I drew her, thinking she would have a beautiful but pained face, but everyone who views it says it's demented and she is far from beautiful. I am very proud of my serpents though. The scales where time consuming but I think the effect made it worth the time.

Aw, she is pretty! I be wondering, though, if her head's so full of snakes, has she any room for brains? Just wondering...you see, I don't have any. Anydiggle, great pic, I give it a 230483294.24502398403284098320.

Well, I'm a huge fan of the myth of Medusa, and in the story she is at first very beautiful, but she and her 2 sisters flaunt thier beauty, boasting that they are more beautiful than Athene, and so she curses them to be ugly, the youngest turning men into stone. So I think you still caught her as beautiful, just in a deep, evil sense of forbidding. All in all, I like it.*poof*

When I read the story of medusa, I saw something extremely similar to that in my head! That is the best Medusa pick have seen in the wods so far!

Oh, the way she stares at me... Makes it hard to look away... I really think that you made her a beauty - but what a sad feeling she gives me...

Good work!

luv the snakes but... i would put smaller eyes, change the eyebrows a bit and have less wrinkles. If you want her to be foreboding then move her back a bit and straighten out her shoulders, then make her look down. Just ideas and also i cant draw so dont take the comments too harshly. Otherwise its great.

It is a teensy bit demented; just make the eyes smaller. But i can see that she was once beautiful!

I see her as anything but demented. I think she's beautiful, and sad. You can definately see that in her eyes. Great job on paying attention to detail...way shweet picture!!!
