SciFi and Fantasy Art: Glamour Girl

She's the timeless Beauty - the Beautiful Cinderella without the magical adornment. The Bar maid in a tavern who there's just something about, that woman who's just timeless and glamourous without all the to fuss.

I like her face. It looks alive, somehow...

I like the simpicity. I also think you have caught all the positive sides of glamour, and left the tacky side out of it.

:-) Jason Hood replies: "I think that there's a definite difference- For example someone being rich or famous doesn't give them glamour or grace- and Obviously doesn't guarantee them taste."

Very pretty - it has a kind of old-school comic book look- only it's not made of dots 2

This is a magnificent drawing. I love the retro, Marilyn Monroe-ish looks and the poise of the subject. My favorite of all of your work. The dress is lovely, too.

Personally, I think that she looks like Nicole Kidman. Very pretty.

It's a great picture, but how the hell is it fantasy? If it's not, it should be removed.

:-) Jason Hood replies: "Obviously you disagree with my discription comments and Iaccept that -is she fantasy possibly/ possibly not. There is an ongoing theme in fantasy or folklore where we have the beautiful maiden(cinderella, snow white)that doesn't know her beauty it comes natural. She represents the thought of the character the unadorned beauty -look at the picture she could be from any time period she could be any character from those stories. Pointy ears and staffs and swords shouldn't be required for something to be considered fantasy."

yeah i think she's really marilyn monroe-ish. she also reminds me of those silly little cover pictures on the old Nancy Drew books i used to read.

Oooooh now here is a timeless picture! One side of me wants to say she is from the 50's but she still has a modern look. Once again you have captured beauty on paper!
