You sound like you really want to make your way in the artworld had commisions yet???
If you want to get used to working from a description (and eventually reference pics) you should consider joining some exchanges, like the dragon art exchange on Livejournal. It's a fun way to meet other people too!
You sculpt? That's cool I sculpt also, but I'm not really good and all the sculptures on my gallery are overaged An hour is really fast for a sculpture, though I suppose you don't paint them then I work on mine for days (spread over weeks)

Dion replies: "Lol yeah I actually am working on an art trade with somebody on elfwood,named bellamy iris nicol, look up her gallery, its awsome . but i am going into sculpture right now and i have to make a sculpture of anything over the christmas break and bring it in.so it'll be a bit slow. and I like to work with fellow artists because they usually supply references or ask for characters which always have miltiple references for me to work off of and im sending in my update today 12/22/05"
