SciFi and Fantasy Art: In the name of God

this is not meant to offend, its just how I feel sometimes. It has nothing to do with individual christians and the religion they practice, but instead the atrocities that have been forged in the pursuit of that religion by people driven by greed, power and control. so please, if you have something nasty to say, don't. Thank you!

OMG!!! i think that you are a fabulous artist. i think that it really doesnt matter what religion any1 is when they see your art, because all they have to do is appreciate it, and they don't have to actually say anything mean or offensive (sp?)

yeah. that's just me ranting on and on and on... yeah. I love how you did her wings and her hair.

BEAUTIFUL!!

MAN THAT's COOL! Its so cool and before reading your explaination I got what you meant so much. Before all else I guess a minute to those before. It's art get over it. Done anyway this means quite a bit to me. I'm Christian yet I'm also quite pagan really so blah to titles. When i think of Jesus I usually aim for the living breathing original teacher not a poor suffering man on a cross and as your explanation points out look what the rest of my religion focuses on. The point of his pain. Religion is used a cover so often which is terrible but true. As artness I love the hair and way you drew the bonds. Not sure why but they stick out to me. Aiming for a thin cross to seems signicant as well maybe as a thin truth? Or am I aiming to far here? Anywho awesome work and let noone else tell you differently.

I know this was not meant to affend! It has truth to it, people of power abuse it, say the are religous, holy, do it in the name of god but really they do it for them and they give christans like me a horrible name. You draw very well by the way.

It has been said that christians as a race, and Catholics in particular, do not celebrate their faith, but mourn it. They use the pain of their Lord to excuse the pain they cause to others in the name of religion. We are christian ourselves, but sadly we have found this to be all-too-often true.
Please excuse our little rant, but your picture brought to mind so many things that have disappointed us about our faith. However, do not take this as a bad thing, because images like this cause us to be aware of the trap we could all too easily fall into, and spur us on to improve our faith. Thank you for reminding us of these things.
