SciFi and Fantasy Art: Sleepy Mermaid

Well, to be truthful, this is the first picture of a mermaid that I've ever done. I really like how the transition between her skin and scales came out. The outlines are pencil, and I coloured her with watercolour pencils. She is supposed to be semi-anime so that's why her face and hair don't look 'real'. She looks sleepy, doesn't she? I think so. That's why I named it 'Sleepy Mermaid'. ;) Heh... I seem to be babbling on about nothing now, so I'll shut up so you can look at the picture. ^-^

I've never seen anybody make a mermaid with that long of a tail, and it really is a perfect tail. You were right, about were the tail meshes with her skin...that kind of flawless blending is something to be proud of indeed!
