SciFi and Fantasy Art: The Slaughter of the Goblins

The title is up to you to decide: are the goblins planning to slaughter the minotaur, or is the minotaur planning to lay waste to the massive number of goblins? This picture has haunted me for the past five years, when I first drew it out. I didn't quite have the ability to accurately wrangle out my vision, so I put it away, and came back to it five years later, when I was able to make it more true to my vision. I went through about two dozen thumbnails of the minotaur, trying to combine the massive girth of a muscular torso with long, thin cow legs (which is how they look in real life) I asked a bunch of my colleagues, even professional artists, for critique. Even THEY had trouble with it! It was very easy to accidentally make the creature look caricatured due to the bizzareness of the physique. I ended up walking on the balls of my feet, posed in front of a mirror to get the proportions right. I then had to struggle with making him DYNAMIC, FLOWING, ENERGETIC. I'm STILL not happy with the results. Call it a 'Work in Progress'.

My money's on the minotaur. Great pic!

give the minotaur some equipment, and make a deeper background, and then that would be REALLY neat.

My guess is that the goblins have a trap that lays in wait for the minotaur. he will probably fall into a pit of pitch(crude flamable substance I think)and the Goblins will light him on fire. HoHoHa! We Goblins are sneaky!!

I want to continue the story. The gobgobs hurt the minotaur on his chest, so the gobgobs push him into a pit, where he is trapped for a while. A sprite finds the minotaur, and she feels sorry for him, and lets him out. the sprite and minotaur both go to the gobgobs for revenge, and become a heroic warrior team.

I'm rooting for the minotauar. You should add more on the backround, and add a nipple ring to the minotaur. Great piece!

A truly fantastic picture. I think the minotaur is very well proportioned and looks fine. I don't think you should change anything except maybe color it. Either way it looks great!
