Hi there, yes, my name is JocheM Cornelis. I'm 23 years old now and I live in Holland. I got my Bachelor degree in Informatics in the end of 2002 and in september 2002 I started a new study: psychology.
Well, I like to draw, but don't do it very regular. The first serie of pictures is very old, then elfwood didn't hear from me for more than a year. Now I am back, I just uploaded the hand and I hope to bring some more soon! I prefer pencils and normal, blank A4-papers. I like to paint things that actually cannot happen in real life, I like the idea that I can reach beyond the laws of physics while drawing.
I know I lack some talent, especially when I don´t have an example, whether it is another picture or a real life object. Somtimes I have a beautifull scene in my head, and end up with a picture way out of proportions and very unbalanced, then I get a little bit disappointed and my insecurity grows even more. Gratefully, I sometimes draw things that can satisfy me (a little). I think I just need to find my true style and live with the fact that I can not draw anything exactly like others do.
Well, bye for now and thanks for stopping by! Love, JocheM
Hey, I like Your stuff. Encorage Your arm - lines must run and flow by itselves! Youve got good lighting. Go on! Dont care about anyone - get Your own style, cause everything you are doing is the only right thing!
Hi Joche, as a beginning, it´s not at all bad ! It will take some time in order to reveal your own style, but after a short period of time you will achieve what you want to. Simply post more and forget your slogan " I´m not so good ", because almost everyone of us had an uncomfortable start into drawing
Hé Jointkop! (is weer eens wat anders dan Kaaskop...) Weer een Nederlander erbij, gezellie. Please, delete that sentence "I'm not goood", thats bullshit! Try more anime, I like that one.
Is it not true that we are our own worst critics? I seem to have the same problem, I see the picture in my head and what comes out is not that pictureBut I have found not trying so hard has helped me. but as always Practice! keep it up, I'm sure you will make your mark on the world. you have already started here.
Many people I know have profited greatly from contact with other artists, stimulating each other to improove, exchange tips and inspire each other. If you haven't already heard of DutchElfwood, you might want to check out http://groups.yahoo.com/group/dutchelfwood, the msgboard for Dutch artists of Elfwood. We organize meetings every once in a while, to come together and draw. Take a look at http://dutchelfwood.mine.nu for some of the results. Maybe we'll see you at one of these meetings?

Hey fellow-men dutchie,I have the same problem as you. I can draw something if I have an example. But when I have an idea, I just can't get it on paper. I'm practicing and practicing till I get good enough to draw my idea's. Drawing a lot really helps, you remember things and draw them better the next time. Keep on drawing, and lot's of success!!!!
