SciFi and Fantasy Art: Balder Colour

This is a new character, based on a series that I dremt about. It's LOOSELY based on Norse Mythology,
Balder, god of light and fire, the favorite of the gods. Most of the stories concerning him are about his death. Unfortunately, and fortunately. That means people have no clue about his exploits, but it leaves me plenty of room to play around.
The orriginal picture is around twice this size, so some detail was lost. It's hard to make out now, but there are some scratches on his armor. I think I'm finally getting the hang of drawing draperies, and it's thanks to my new book by Hogarth. I'd recomend it to anybody learn to draw fabrics.
I'll upload the orriginal sketch in here too, so you can see all the work I did soley on the computer.
Balder, orphaned mysteriously at a young age with his lifelong friend Aegir, raised on a space station by scientist soldiers; his innocence surprises everyone he meets. He can 'fix almost anything', optimistic almost to a fault, he'll fight to the death for what he thinks is right.

19 Feb 2004	Aliyah Iakobson	Loading... Awesome armour! Hmm... the fabric is good, but not there yet (not like I can draw anything like that) I think the black lines are either unecessary or too thick, they kinda platten the cloth... otherwise, I love this pic.
