SciFi and Fantasy Art: Elf Maiden Walking Sketch

Just an initial sketch I did on a small pad. There was no reference for this sketch. Sometimes I can see exactly what I intend to draw before I start. In those cases the sketch usually turns out better. When that's not the case, I will do rough sketches until I feel I've got it right. I'm not sure if I'll bother taking this any further. She's not supposed to be nude. I tend draw the body first, then the clothing. Sometimes, I even draw the muscles in detail (using an anatomy reference) and then cover that up with skin. The more comfortable I am with anatomy, the easier it is to draw things from my head. This scan was cleaned up in photo shop to remove erasure lines, but that's it.

24 Dec 2006	Your best enemy	Loading... If you want a realistic picture you must sart from a proper base. You're absolutely right to start with the basic body first then layer on top of that. The drawing is excelent .
