| 6 Mar 2003 | Ludovica Wing Shuen Price | Neat idea for a weapon. Wish i'd thought of that It'd be very useful...Kind of like a stave-flamethrower thingy...Although in my hands it'd probably be used as a flamethrower more often than not. Oh dear... Great work on the flames Jamie Goodliffe replies: "Well the Red Drauch don't use it as a flamethrower too much actually. And it's not quite a stave either. If I was any good at human CG (or in this case Drauch CG) then it would have someone holding it, and you'd realise it's only just under a metre long. Though it can be wielded as a stave/quarterstaff (much quicker than a damned quarterstaff, they weigh a ton!) it can also be wielded -like- a sword/club single or double handedly. A very versatile weapon indeed! " | |
| 19 Mar 2003 | Ludi | Well, I have to admit that this is a cool weapon, and if it was ever made into a real weapon, this would definitely be my weapon of choice (rather than the sword-stick that is ). So one day you're gonna have to have this made properly! And you can work out how to do the flames with your magic skills | |
| 26 Apr 2003 | Andrea 'Terminus' Tee Shao-Wen | Excellent! The red Drauchs are immune to their own weapon's flame, are they? Interesting and very cool. You did a great job here, and I can't really see the line, but if you say it's there...hmm. I must need my coffee. Jamie Goodliffe replies: "Well, each Red Drauch are immune to their own weapon completely. Hitting one with their own weapon wouldn't leave a scratch. I think " | |
| 28 May 2003 | Jim Lamar | Very nice....i have just started doing som Modeling in Lightwave3D what program are you using? i have not got into the JOY(?) of particals or hypervoxels but i plan too some day......again nice work and great idea Jamie Goodliffe replies: "Yes, this is Lightwave 3D (albeit a very basic application of its power). Hypervoxels can be either an absaloute dream to work with, or a pain in the ass. Depends on your knowlege of 'em, and what you're doing. Thanks for the comment." | |
| 10 Jul 2003 | Irina Goodwin | Ooh! What nifty flames! Wonderful use of colour as well. Very cool. I have a suggestion, though. What would be really cool if you could take a picture of somebody dressed appropriatelly in a pose that you could incorporate the stick into. Then do that AND you could change the colours of the person to make it look like whatever a Drauch looks like... just an idea. Jamie Goodliffe replies: "That's a good idea, albeit a difficult one. It would be hard to model the clothes of a Drauch, and I would have to chop a foot off of the persons height. Maybe I will give it a shot..." | |
| 8 Sep 2003 | Cat Bowen | Hey, this is a really cool and glowy picture. I like the flames. But...who are Drauch? Jamie Goodliffe replies: "The Drauch are creatures from my unwritten book, Ancient Legacy. Similar to elves, though not the almost invincible beings from Tolkein's world. There are various castes of Drauch, all named after a colour, and all favouring certain conditions. Red Drauch are fire, Green Drauch are forest, Cyan Drauch are lightning, Purple Drauch are swamp. They are very fast, but aren't good fighters for any other reason." | |
