What a nice girl! :p Of course, this is the colored version of my Princess Charming. The foreground character is based on one of my grandmother's porceline dolls. I am especially fond of the dress. ;)

I'll tell Gilly how much you like her coloring job too. I too think it's a million times better with color; maybe one day she'll actually teach me how to do that so well! Thanks for your comments!
| 11 Jan 2002 | Anonymous | The word thief comes to mind when I look at this picture. Like perhaps the 'innocent' girl with the hat has stolen from the girl in the backround. But I dont know if there is a story behind this picture or not. It just seems that perhaps there is more then the eye can see. I like it though. I wish I could draw that well!!! Joshua T Smith replies: "Hey that's a cool idea for the drawing! When I do drawings like this, I do them with a symbolic concept or emotion involved, and not always a complete story. I believe that really good art is the kind that makes the viewer (you) think about what's going on in the drawing. So some of the nicest comments I can receive are the ones like yours that show me that I'm evoking curiousity in my drawing! So thank YOU!" | |
| 25 Jul 2002 | Bree Patton | If making people wonder what's going on in a picture is what makes art good, I REALLY need to work on my art. *laughs* I like this, it truly does evoke the imagination. Hm, a bit of helpful crit, though, I think the slave girls butt looks a bit small. Joshua T Smith replies: "Hey, I didn't say it was the ONLY thing that makes art good. I agree about the butt. I'll work on it, promise! Thanks and come again!" | |
| 8 Aug 2002 | Christina Murray | Its so beautiful... I love the dress. Joshua T Smith replies: "Hey, thanks! I'm glad you like the dress, too, b/c it took forever to make it look right (cloth has never been my forté). " | |
| 2 Dec 2002 | Bree Patton | *Falls over laughing at your response* Joshua T Smith replies: "heheh, careful! " | |
| 16 Feb 2003 | Angel | Wonderfull, wonderfull, but i liked the black and white version best. What i loved most was the details. On the dress and the slavegirl, and the faces. Oh thoose innocent faces, i love it. Joshua T Smith replies: "Thanks! Details are exactly the reason why I hardly ever finish any drawings, hehehe. I'm glad you liked the faces! I worked especially hard on the Princess' expression. " | |
| 24 Nov 2003 | Anonymous | i hate it Joshua T Smith replies: "Wow, that's too bad! Any particular reason why so? Hate -is- such as strong word. " | |
| 26 Dec 2003 | Kristina | This picture is astounding its beautiful and says so much it looks as if its heart break and love all in one Joshua T Smith replies: "Wow, that's deep. Thank you!" | |

| 2 Feb 2006 | Baron A La Stew | This picture made me think of a few things. It looks like the woman is looking at you as if you've done something wrong to her. Perhaps a vicious lord tore off her left sleeve to make it easier for her to get poisoned.
The woman in the background is most likely the lord's slave. Poor woman... She'll become yet another broken slave for the vicious lord.
