SciFi and Fantasy Art: Planes-Cutter

This Scimitar is one of Moc's weapons (there are a pair of them actually) which are known as hthe Planes-Cutters. Granted by Mother Nature, the blades are capable of cutting through almost anything, and create an opening which leads to another plane of existence of the wielder's choice. Sounds complicated? Well for example if Moc slashes the blade at the arm of his opponent (which he rarely does since he hates fighting) and if it does connect, the arm will be severed off in most cases and, if he thought of Plane of Elemental Fire when he does the slash, the cut which is created by the blade will become a portal to Plane of Elemental fire, thus Flames of extraordinary heat would burst out of the would / portal, and would probably consume the opponent in flames. About the work itself (I know it looks fancy) It's done without drawing with pencil... I do it with Macormedia Freehand and Adobe Photoshop.

Interesting story to go with the pretty pic. It sounds a lot like The Subtle Knife book...That one can open doorways into parallel universes, if the user knows what he's doing. Good Job on the picture.

*grins wickedly* Don't you dare to ever come after Shadow with one of these, mister... *is desperately trying to figure out a way to neutralize the devastating effects of the Planes-cutter* Beee-utiful.

I have to wonder, what does the hilt look like from another angle? Is that a face?

*blinks* I thought up of an idea very similar to this... I thought I was original. Hmm... Oh well. I'll jsut change my idea a bit so it's not so much like yours. ^_^ Great job on this pic. I like the detail put into the blade and such. Keep up the good work.

Looks absolutely GREAT! If it was a real weapon it would be nigh useless, though, lacking a pommel to counter the weight of the massive blade... but that's just me bitching about realism again. Great pic!

Cool! I like cut-through-anything weapons. It doesn't beat the original, though; Tirfing, the cursed blade from Norse mythology! BTW, hypothetical question: if you have two swords, both identical and both capable of cutting through anything, including each other, and you use them simultaneously at each other, what happens?
