SciFi and Fantasy Art: Atlas' Struggle

Anybody who knows greek mythology knows this image. Atlas' endless punishment to hold up the earth... Some say he had to hold up the sky, but I like the other versions better. Anyway, I may have messed up the back-upper arm a little. I didn't know to use gestural drawing before hand to get the meassurement right, but oh well :) Plus I added the little joke 'thought' in there (if you can read it) about his nose itching ;)

I laughed when I saw the thought bubble. Because of the humerous content, I've added it to the soon-to-be-famous Greek Myth tour! Look for it in the comming days!

:-) Juli 'Jules' Shelton replies: "Woo! I'm on a tour! *dances*"

As a fellow lover of Greek Mythology, I really like that thought of his! Personally, I prefer the "holding up the sky" version, but who can draw that?

:-) Juli 'Jules' Shelton replies: "Yeah, I actually thought about doing a revised version with sky-in-tote, but I decided to stick with this one. It's got sentimental significance now."

"Who is John Galt?" Ehh? As for drawing Atlas holding up the sky, Juli could, if she wanted to.

:-) Juli 'Jules' Shelton replies: "I can? ... Er... Yeeeaah, I can..."

Yeah, that whole "Atlas holds up the sky" thing bugged me too. I mean, wasn't the sky supposed to be the god Uranus? And if so, you'd think that he'd want to stay as far away from Earth as possible after what Cronos did to him...

:-) Juli 'Jules' Shelton replies: "Yes!!! I'm not the only one who got that! lol Uranus supposely took off, so it never made sense to me! I thought maybe I just miss understood. "

That's a neat design, I love the "far out" background 10

:-) Juli 'Jules' Shelton replies: "Hehe, thanks. Hey! Where'd your site go?"

Cheesy, corny, picture!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
His arm should have been fixed before you entered the picture, but then again you noticed it and simply decided to leave it as is simply because you're a jack ass?

:-) Juli 'Jules' Shelton replies: "Wow. Somebody didn't get enough hugs from his mommy. *pats*"
