It's a simple enough effect, but I think I like this one even better. It gives it a sort of stylized feel, and it also feels sort of . . . encompassing.

I also prefer this version; I had actually found the colouring of the figure to be a bit chaotic, but the circular aura effect you've given it is subdued and tranquil, with the figure within a bright pulse of light. She's like a light-bearer in the darkness. Lovely work. (I'm envious.. when I use watercolours it just ends up looking like I spilled my drink on the paper!)
