SciFi and Fantasy Art: Fatelink

Well, this piece came to me in the middle of the night. I showed the original drawing around and people said it makes you think. Why are they there? Are they connected? Why are they staked through the heart? What do the moons in the back mean? Only about 3 people know the true inspiration to this picture and I'm not telling anymore. Artist perogitive. I bow to you, Inspiration.

*wonders quietly* beautiful. although it may not have been what you meant to make a person think of, I think that it is a beautiful illustration of the empathy of lovers. what hurts one will hurt the other equally. but no matter what it means, it's a very beautiful peice, and I absolutely must thank whatever your inspiration was.

I am not Christian yet i can see the the combination between the Christian imagery ,of the crucified lovers, and the Pagan ones of the sun and moons...I do not understand the sun in eclipse..and maybe I should just enjoy the beauty of the art and not try to interpret it...Maybe the artist is looking for something and is torn between two worlds that seem so far apart and yet are so entwined....please help me in understanding this

when i look at it and see the forbidding lovers crucified for there love the moon blocking out the sun shows that this was not approved in any belief. We must remember we paint our faces to hide our faces. Beautiful work of art it spoke to me in so many ways thank you.

I love the use black and white colours in it. Sort of like ying and yang, the idea that men and women are black and white, only here i would say that the woman is the dark side of the smybol.

Above the black 'moon' is a white glow and below the white 'moon'is a black glow.

And the mans hair is a yellow blonde while the womens dark hair is in contrast to his.

And the mans cross is a lighter shade while the womans is dark.

I think (to me anyway) that the nail through the heart is love for each other, and the cross instand of having any biblical refere is about sacrfice.
