SciFi and Fantasy Art: Quetzelcoatl y Tezcatlipoca

Based on the Aztec/Toltec myth of Quetzelcoatl, specifically that version where Quetzelcoatl (the man) must continually struggle with his alterego, Tezcatlipoca, and the darker side of his nature (depicted as a feathered serpent). This is (hopefully) the first of a series of world mythologies, all designed in the same format. Colored pencil and gouache on white bristol.

It’s very interesting, good to see some more mythological based stuff. I reckon the guy’s wings should have more feathers though.
