SciFi and Fantasy Art: Fire in the Courtyard

'She fled through a doorway, which led out to a balcony... as well as to a view of the vivacious flames that licked the courtyard below.'
Compare this picture to my earlier work, 'Fleeing the Skeleton Lord,' and you'll begin to notice that I drew inspiration for my Hickory Dock project from that piece... and my series of dreams about the Skeleton Lord. I'm proud of the way I made the flames in this picture. This isn't just a 'fire' effect, or a 'filter' that I applied to make those flames. It was the combination of many tools and filters and experimentation!

I decided that I like working on "series" better than individual pieces. I really learned a lot from drawing the same character over and over again. I haven't quite decided what to do for my next "series" of pictures. I just know that I want to do something with my GGC characters."

You have inspired me to have dreams like this...lol... Marlena Cannon replies: "In my wyvern's library ("stories" link) you can read Ghosts of the Golden City, which started out being a collection of ideas inspired from weird dreams, but has actually evolved into a story with plot and characters and stuff! "
