Looks very alive and dynamic...don't suppose there's any bitterflies in there? 10

:-) Marlena Cannon replies: "Thanks! And nope, these are all the sunshine and gumdrops, tinkly-winkly kind of butterflies. 12"

That's cool, but where's her other hand?

:-) Marlena Cannon replies: "Her other hand is connected to her left arm... which is going off-screen. Sorry!"

I like it too...very cool blend of anime vs realistic styles. And I love what you did with the folds on her dress...cool cool cool.

But I have one question: Is there any particular reason she always wears blue or is it just your favorite color? 2

:-) Marlena Cannon replies: "Thanks! Sometimes I think it's a bit of an awkward blend (in her face), but I'm happy with the dress folds too. Malraune always wears ultramarine blue because... it's my favorite color to paint with. And it's her favorite color (my favorite color is actually deep red)."

Wonderful composition and colors! The face is beautifully done, too.

:-) Marlena Cannon replies: "Thanks! This is one of my only pictures where I honestly wouldn't redo anything if I could. "

Pretty! I like the little butterflies!

:-) Marlena Cannon replies: "Thanks! In the dream that inspired this, the butterflies were actually kinda creepy...."

Wow, this is awesome. I like the detail that you put into the piece.

:-) Marlena Cannon replies: "Thank you! I guess my paintings are like my dreams...and my writing... some very detailed parts but mostly vague. 10"

Well done! My sister, Illusen (she commented you on another art piece you did) thinks its fantastic, yet I think its OUTSTANDING!!

:-) Marlena Cannon replies: "Thank you. ^^ It's one of my few art pieces that hasn't become outdated by my changing art style."

The thumbnail for this one really caught my eye - and yet it doesn't do justice to the large version which is spectacular. The colour and detail are astounding (like the shine in the sword). Well done!

:-) Marlena Cannon replies: "Thanks! Well, I am sort of addicted to color. I've found a new medium that lends itself even more to bright colors... Copic markers. (New pics will be up as soon as this ticket goes through!)"

Again, you did a GREAT job on her! I especially love her dress, the way it clings to her ample hips! Very nice! Her hair is great too!
