SciFi and Fantasy Art: Mer-Were

Calenthe has Were-creatures of all types, able to shift human, animal, and half forms, as this were-fish is. The background was roughly copied from a nat'l geographic article (it had a scuba-diver instead of a mermaid *G*).

Prismacolor pencil on paper, not quite 9 by 12. I can't be bothered to measure at the moment.

I guess that a lot of people already said that, so you already know that's a wonderful background, so I will not tell you again...but I definitively agree with they... It was done in a dark paper or was a white-normal paper? Really great... The lights in the ground look perfect...Thank you. It was done on white paper, it just has a lot of pencil on it. I want to try expiramenting with dark paper though - some people get really neat results.

I'm creating my own fantasy story as well, but it's slow going because I've always only read and written romance. I'm reading a bunch of fantasy novels. By Anne McAffrey and L.E. Modisett(?) Jr., and David Eddings. I too have a mermaid (I don't think fantasy is quite the same without them) but it's different than yours. The background is really spectacular. I like all your drawings and characters. Very talented. ;-)
