| Ken has always been known as the Wirehead. He used to do 3D SF art. Now he does photography and sculpture, sometimes with an SF feel, sometimes without.

I've actually gotten good at drawing people. You wouldn't know it from here because I've never posted any of them. Most of my work here represents a thread of my artistic work that slowed to a trickle around 2001-2002.
I spent a bunch of time in 1998-2002 wanting to be one of those guys at Pixar or ILM who gets to do special effects. Or a 3D artist. Or a game programmer. But none of that happened and I realized that it wasn't meant to happen. I haven't fired up a 3D program in at least 2 years.
Things changed and I moved outside of the strict genre of science fiction/fantasy, so, while I've got some great stuff, it doesn't fit here. I've learned something, and that's that the dream job where you can be a programmer and an artist is nothing but a myth.
Now, my work is either sculpture or photography, although with my own engineer-nerd-nut bent to it.
My list of Elfwood claims to fame are: - I had dinner with The Steph once.
- I was in Zone 47's gallery 2, back when there was a Zone 47.
- I invented a number of #lothlorien traditions
- I had a gallery here since before there was an Elfwood
As far as the biographical information goes, I'm a programmer, married, and a nut.

| | | | | Date | Name | Comment | | | 22 Sep 1999 | Kenneth Young | I like your work... and on a note about fantasy 3D art, I've been producing a bit lately, and have many more higer detailed images on their way (44 hours rendering can slow the process down). Hope my page can help your 3D side of things! | |
| 17 Feb 2000 | Joe | A small tip, buy an anatomy book. It will help you improve the realism of your pictures greatly. | |
| 16 Apr 2000 | Tiffany Rix | Well I like your work Ken. I think they look a little abstract, but they are all beautiful. Well done! I also took a look at your zone 47 gallery...very nice indeed! | |
| 11 Jan 2001 | Brian Edwin Weseman | [AKA SkunkWerks on #loth] You know, you probably have a better handle on shading than I do, and I'm not pulling that outta my arse either, I'm not kidding. you have a knack for establishing nice moods with them. The best advice I can offer, as someone who trained himself to do this sort of thing for about ten years is, you need to work on form. When I did this, I had borrowed several books on dynamic anatomy from my brother, also an artist of sorts (seems to run 9in the family). I then just spent a great deal of time studying them and seing how different parts of the human body create different forms and shapes. This is a great start you have here, and in some ways, you're one or two up on me, don't get discouraged, if you really want to draw, then I say more power to ya. Great stuff! | |
| 13 Jan 2001 | Bunny | I think your work is great and if you keep drawing, then one day, you're pictures will be worth millions!! | |
| 2 Sep 2001 | Anonymous | Your work is good, you shouldn't be descouraged by people's comments. It's probably better then mine, I'm to much of a chicken to put mine on the web for people to see..comments scare me. | |
| 14 Jan 2002 | Chelle | I wasn't going to stop here long because well, honestly your work is average. but I read your bio and you have the guts to be honest. That's better than being the best of artists anyways. As long as you enjoy drawing, You're still doing better than me. | |
| 23 Nov 2003 | Amelia Baxter | haha i'm afraid of comments too! I'm still in the queue to put up my latest pics and i'll prbably smash the computer when I see the comments for them.
I don't really like humans but I just wanna say your shading is great!!!!

| 6 Feb 2008 | Aida Vicens | Hi there! I’m on a "walk" through all the galleries of elfwood, and just found yours. If (for some strange reason) you want to take a look at how’s going the "foolish walk", take a look at http://wanderingelfwood.blogspot.com
Anyway, have a good day and keep on drawing!!
