SciFi and Fantasy Art: Calypso

A solemn angel I did based on a picture of an angel a friend of mine on the net did. A little too much movement in the clothes I know. =) I really like the wings on this one. His right wing is also a bit strange looking.

I really like this...I don't think there's too much movement in it. I myself am desperately trying to attain the ability to draw damned and holy creatures, such as deamons and angels...This is really nice, and I like your use of shading.

- This is perhaps one my favorite renderings so far of an angel. Lots more to come though, I can see them flying around in my head even now... -

i thank his wings den't look quite attached ta his body. frankly, i thank they look like they be comin out o' his nek. but de guy himself an his clothes are neat! and de wings demselves are alsa better den _i_ could do so...

- Yeah, I get alot of comments about that with his wings. I always envisioned his wings having an extra joint near where they come out of his back and then go up. ah well, nevermind. *heh* -

I like the depth of this image. The wings are definitely the strongest part of the composition. Good shading underneath his left wing.

- Thanks, this was the first time I tried this style of wing and I prefer it over what I did for "A Call to Arms" and "Spiritual Battle". -

This picture has a fascinating feel for me. I'm not sure why. Perhaps it is the way the clothing is shaded... I like the effect of that a lot. A whole lot. ...hmm...

Wowzie, even if the wings are a bit high placed (at least from this perspective- as you say you envinsioned another joint in them)- I still like them, the texture is truly neat looking. You are right though, the clothes look a tad strange, but if you already realize that then there's no sense in me going off about 'em.

I thought the wings were pretty good....Just like they have an arch at the very beginning part, but hey that's just my opinion ^_^ it's really great, i like his coat/cloak thing
