| 5 Mar 2001 | John Teall | perhaps she becoms envious of the fleeing lovers and falls in love herself the their persuit who because of this fall of the bridge or the bridge colapses and they drown - that sounds like the kinds of stories i would expect to have been told about the scene depicted by someone of the background who would have purchased the cups while the artist who designed them might have had a different story in mind entirely - but was it really a different story or meirly one told and perceived through the eyes of a different culture - well different entirely in some details at least - but well there could be parallels - the lovers - the parents - the intervention of 'gods' or spirits - different spirits with different purposes - even a totaly different 'moral' if any to the story - yet maybe a few parallels remarkable in their own way for their very existence ... ye olde 'blue plate special' ... (in the thumbnail this looked like a flasher wearing a carnival tent and i just HAD to see what the heck the longer description would turn out to be ... ~ | |
