First of all - great work! I reallu like it - just some questions that came to my mind while looking at it.
The figure on the front of the ship (I don't knoew the english term, sorry) - is it actually somewhat living?
And - the titan? is using some kind of fireblast? At least it looks like, but then the blast goes straight into a (relatively) small wave - maybe it would look more realistic (aehm... this seems to be an very unfitting term concerning a fantasy pic) with some steam, boiling water?
Anyway - I really like this pic and the motion of it...................................................................................................................................................................:the artist: Well, I understand your questions and the truth is that you have to know the myth to understand this picture. The ship is called ARGO (that is why its sailors are called Argonauts). It was supposed to have a living piece of wood attached to its front which predicted the future (something like a radar). I thought it a good idea to present it as a wooden mermaid. Now Talos was not a Titan as you mention but a cyborg which protected the CRETE island from intruders. It was supposed to have a nail at its heel where the single vain that run through its body ended. Talos was defeted by Media, the witch on the ship, who removed the nail by casting a spell and all the blood (or lava) drained out of its body. For more details search for " Jason and the Argonauts". Thank you.

Oh yes now I remember,( I just read the book a month ago) Was't Talos the guy made from bronze and ichor for blood? And didn't he die when he hurt himself on a rock? Funny I always thought of him as human-sized but this drawing is awesome!

Actually Stockmann, in most myths the figurehead was on the back, a strange fluctuation which was why it was mentioned and why it stuck in my head. The figurehead actually was a quasi-incarnation of Hera and wasnt so much as living as imbued as a method of communication (a telephone isnt living is it?). I don't mind him putting it on the front though because i believe there was at least one version where it was in front, and he has done such a good job being faithful to the myths.

Meep, anything that can blast with a fire blast that makes the water go UP first and BOIL later is obviously very poweful. *hides* ^_~ Awesome picture, though.
