| 4 Oct 1998 | Car'a'carn | what exactly an ent looks like has mystified us all i think. but you have captured the mood here well i think. there he will stand for generations and generations becoming one with the forest | |
| 22 Feb 1999 | Henry | NO offense, but.... what the heck is an ent? | |
| 13 Apr 1999 | Jason (Howlll) McDowell | You definatly have a poetic form of writing. I like this ent. He's cute. You have a good grasp on your coloured pencils. It looks like an ancient wood carving. You might want to work on body proportions (unless an ent, whatever it may be, is supposed to be out of proportion.) You might want to also make him anatomically correct. (Unless ents aren't anatomically correct. | |
| 20 Apr 1999 | Salter | Your ent needs more detail, he looks much to lanky. | |
| 25 May 1999 | WindStrider | Ents are the tree-people of Tolkiens'incomparable series .. a lil more detail on the texture ( may have been scanned out) would be good, but the pic is fine otherwise. | |
| 13 Jun 1999 | Jen | Henry: The ents are the shepherds and caretakers of the trees. They were trees themselves until the elves taught them speech in the dawn of time. They are wise and very slow until you get one angry. | |
| 9 Aug 1999 | Megan Skye Hale | Jenn..they weren't trees, they were one of the first people made..in thier song..about how there was elves, ents, dwarfs, and men..anywho..I think this is a great picture. I like how he lookd especially tree-like, like when they go to sleep..or whatever they do when they turn almost into trees but can still walk...the colouring is amazing..and..I have nothing else to say..very good job! | |
| 16 Mar 2001 | John Teall | i always pictured them as looking just exacly like trees - not trees with faces and legs but just trees - untill they chose to move - in which case the still looked like trees but with their 'roots' 'walking' them along throught the ground - either mind talking or creating the souds of speach by altering the shapes of their limbs so as to alter the sounds of the breezes blowing through them - everything being completely deniable of being anything other then tree nature in otherwords - but being able to move by reshaping themselves with extremely unnatural quickness - this would be almost impossible to portray visualy except by animation effects - well that is of course only my own perception and this sort of 'tree looking' person could be more what tolken had in mind - he looks a believable being of some sort - more so then many attempts i've seen to portray them ... (and they are a VERY tempting challange to attempt to portray ... ~ | |
