I would guess that "dog thing" is not canine but feline.

Love the faery in this picture . . . wings and hair, I think (:. Your facial expressions are good, too. I think you should definitely keep working on this one.

Neat concept and good execution. Her hair looks a little spindly, but otherwise nice work. His pose is very natural and you've joined all the forms into the picture gracefully. Nice work.

I think you do very well with figure! And the feet and hands look perfect to me! Again, if youre stuck on how to do something (like finish the background) go thru some old magazines or something and get some reference. Im sure you can find a street corner pic somewhere.

I really like this one Julie. Nice to someone's looking out for us huh 12. I have suggestions for color (don't know why i'm suggesting *eyes own black and white gallery*) maybe some soft colors that can easily blended into any background color. Earthtones are extremely soft (my opinion you know what you want 10) Keep up the good work.

Very nice! You told me, when you commented on my page, that you had trouble getting clean, crisp lines, but I don't think you do! This is very clean and crisp!
Interesting concept also- the shading on the man is also very nice- it brings him forwards. His position is a little stiff though- I think his pocket should be a bit lower for his arm to be at that angle.
Anyway, marvellous picture!

Great illustration so far - you definitely are very talented. As for further suggestions, before you start coloring, the little cat needs more defined whiskers, and when a cat reaches for something their paw-fingers are usually spread and their claws flex - at least a little. Also, the fairy's/angel's wings need a little texture added with pencil before coloring. And adding shoelaces on the man's shoes and heavy stubble on his face would be good. If he's homeless and destitute he probably doesn't shave, right? As for the building in the background, as someone else has also mentioned, it looks like a grand hotel or apartment house, so it would probably need another potted plant across the entryway and an ornate sconce lamp on the inner wall of the entryway, and the building colored a light stone grey. As for other colors, drab browns on the man's clothes, charcoal grey with sparkles on the pavement, medium grey & gold on the streetlamp of course, cream for the kitty and, let's say, strawberry blond hair, porcelain skin, lavender wings and an overall outline of gold glow for the fairy/angel. And, this is just my opinion, but any female nude should have nipples on her breasts - that's half of the beauty of the breast. In art, nipples on the breasts aren't vulgar, they remind people of the beauty and unique ability to love and nurture that women have. So while both genders can love spiritually and emotionally, women have the added unique ability to give life, love and sustenance to a baby with her body. This is what most people are reminded of when they see female nudes in art - the beautiful nude mothers of their earliest unconscious memories. And while you may have already colored and finished this illustration, if you haven't yet I hope my suggestions might help. Good luck with the piece!
