Julie, I'm liking the background you used here. How did you go about coloring it? I also like how you made his eyes appear to glow (at least I'm hoping it's not my own vision doing that). The furrow down the center of his forehead is a nice touch. I honestly think this one is done as it is -- there's not much else you could do to it.

through fields of green or mysts of grey ever the wanderer stumbles unnoticing through barriers inpenitrable to others - seeing - observing - not judging - save to note in passing the interacting of contexts - but probably forgetting almost as soon as observed - one head can hold a lot but how much can it access at one time ... but even the wet and dreary was so much alive when i was alone in it - ah well this guy could be anything - but if he were me ... yes the tunic and the staff - that in a sense i can identify with - and wandering those universes ... ~

What? I haven't commented on this yet? Heh, how remiss of me. You did a wonderful jov on this. The detail in the hands is wonderful (I still hate doing hands). I also like the cloudy background. It doesn't look like you use that cheap "merge clouds" feature in photoshop *coughlikemecough*

I love his right hand, but the last two fingers should be a bit shorter, it would look more natural. The face and hair is great, good work.

I seen a few say the background looks awesome... well... sure. The cloud effect does look awesome, but art simulates more than the eyes. (well if it is good quality it should anyway) What about emotion? One thing the cloud effect does do is empty a picture of its emotion, unfortunately. With a background comes a 'feel' for the character. The background should support the character's feelings or history. Okay so now that I have blabbed, here's my helpful tip. You can leave the cloud effect, but fade it to about 20% er so (adjust as you see fit) Then lay on another background, one that conveys something about your wizard. Was he a murder, maybe dead bodies around, was me a family man? Maybe his family somewhere? You get my point... then layer that background in under the cloud... it will give the background a powerful/mystic effect

I like the robe. The face on this fellow is great too.
