SciFi and Fantasy Art: In the library

I started this like half a year ago, and slowly worked on it for two months
then is disappeared in the big mess in my bedroom

and when I started cleaning it and sorting everything out yesterday I found it back
I had all forgotten about this drawing :S

enjoy!

I have no words for this. I really like the feeling in it, it's a kind of secret. Great idea!! Why don't you invent a little story to this? The picture inspires so much!!

Hmmm grreat pencil work. Got a little smidge of criticism for ye. The hand with the light source I believe that the palm is a bit short as the fingers seem a bit close to the thumb. And I also think that the wrist may be too wide as typicaly the fore arm narrows the farther it gets from the elbow and is at it's smallest width at the wrist.

pleaaaaz I need a little story for this! It's terrific and unique and awefully and just ... so... deep! I can feel the deeps of never telled and eventual stories...

<-- read it, it shows how great pictures can drive non-existent brains to insane

:-) Karin van Zon replies: "believe me, if I could make up reasonable stories, this picture would have one right away! unfortunately, I can't 8, that's why I draw pictures instead 12"

This, truly, is a glorious storytelling image. One of the best I've seen. The perspective on the lines of the bookshelf, the attention to detail in the books themselves, the soft light pouring forth from the open book . . . everything works.

Hehe, I love the image. Any good library should make you feel like fairies have been there first, breezing through the aisles at night and leaving pixie dust on the pages of their favorite books.

Howdy neighbor, you must have moved in next door during the reshuffle last year. I didn’t realize I’d be getting new neighbors. Or maybe you’ve just been living next door all this time and your work has just gotten exponentially better. I’ve just taken a tour of your gallery and Have to say I’m quite impressed. This one, however, is my favorite. I love the shaded gloomy atmosphere you create. Beautifully done!

The shading on this piece is wonderful! The effects of light and dark are really good. And I like the whole feeling this picture gives. It shows quite well how magical reading is! ^^ Reminds me of myself staying up until midnight reading with the torch... I suppose having a magical flame would be a bit more practical, since all my torches keep breaking 10
