SciFi and Fantasy Art: Betta-inspired Mermaid

I did this today throughout the school day with a .7 mechanical pencil. My little betta (beta?) fish has a tail like this. As you can see, I'm quite protective of this one, so please don't steal it (the periods between my initials made her nipples ::smirks::). I'm going to do this as a large watercolor painting - at least 11x14. I hope to go with a peacock-like color scheme, using purples/greens/blues, and the hair will be sienna/brown with gold acrylic highlights (which'll also be present on the edge of the tail). I might outline the final in waterproof ink first, what do you guys think?

8 Dec 2002	Catherine M.E Waddell	Loading... The eyes look a little spacey but watercolour is definately the way to go - as for the pen outline why not finish the painting scan it and then outline a print of the scan? The tail is amazing though soo much detail.
