SciFi and Fantasy Art: Slain Angel & The Grim Reaper

The other two stained glass windows from the Gothic Lamp. I chose not to paint the reaperīs clothes because i didnīt want to block too much light.

I find it somewhat disturbing about the angel. *Note for nitpicks: I was orginally Christian, and when I became no longer so, a lot of things stuck....Just don't ask.

The slain angel side is a little less clear than the grim reaper side. I'm not an elfwood member, and your art is all simply amazing (and very dark, which gives me even more reason to be impressed), but the angel slayer doesn't seem to have a head... Is there any way to either darken his clothes\armor\uniform or the background behind him to make it more clear? Other than that, very well done (I also like the take on making the Reaper in white)

bravo. one of these days I'll finish my stained glass faery lamp, but I doubt it. Anyway. Putting the reaper in white is not a bad idea as a lot of cultures (most Oriental for example) see white as the color of death, not black. Partly because it is the absence of color where as black is the presence of all colors

1 Bruno Krippahl replies: "  Hi Sandra, and thanks for dropping by. Actually, if we consider ADDITIVE COLOR MIXING (mixing of light beams) then white is the presence of ALL colours. In the Reaperīs robe, it would be correct to say that the fabric reflects light of ALL the frequencies of the visible spectrum. The Reaper however, having no eyeballs of any sort (only sockets) is colorblind, and so only has two robes on his cuppboard, one black for Ocidental jobs, and one white for Oriental jobs.Having said this, I now feel that my comment was completely useless and will shut up. Actually, that might not be such a bad idea for a cartoon: Grim Reaper standing in front of the closet, trying to figure out which robe for this days work... but enough. Good stuff. Und ich glaub auch: complete geile, alter.

This has to be the most original Idea I have ever seen on elfwood! It's fantastic! Are they real windows?

:-) Bruno Krippahl replies: "Not real windows. I used architect paper because it is translucid and really easy to paint with markers."
